Auditorium - Yves Saint-Laurent Museum, Marrakech

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech is a jewel complex designed by Studio KO and Theatre Projects.

The museum comprises a 120-seat auditorium designed to host small piano and quartet recitals. With its variable acoustics, it is also used a conference and film projection auditorium. We also provided acoustic design throughout the building (See Museum Section)

This project was contracted by Theatre Projects who provided theatre and acoustic design. As principal of Theatre Projects acoustic team, I followed the very early acoustic design and draw with the architect and my colleague theatre designer the shape and volume of the auditorium. From the Schematic Design onwards, the project was covered by my colleague Victoria Chavez.

Renaud Capuçon, famous French violonist quoted: “The new recital hall is a jewel, I give 20/20 for its acoustics”.

The projects received several architectural awards.
